So I had to pre-order this purrfectly cute little one as soon as I saw her illustration. That minty hair with bangs and the colorful fun outfit with pink engineering boots! I was even more pleased once I saw the official photos of her. I thought she would have more of a bobbed hair cut but I will cut it once I get a hold of her. With a price point of $139.00 US I was all over it. Here is what Junie Moon has to say about this little FBL coming in June.
Wend Weekender loves to dress in vivid colors and cute motifs. She loves to look unique and fun.
The cute design of the cat eating ice cream is printed on her shirt.
Wendy has her very own heart shaped sunglasses to match!
Her cute hair accessories are stars.
Her total image is fun and vivid colors.
She looks as though she's slipped out of the pages of a top "Kawaii" pop culture magazine.
She has straight bangs with medium length hair in a loose curl.
She has lovely, mint green hair.
She has special front facing brown eye chips.
She has warm eyeshadow, and peachy pink lips and cheeks.
Her face is natural tone in the Fairest mold.
Her stand is orange.

There was a bit of a problem a month or so ago regarding an apparent shortage and hearing of Azone discontinuing their popular Pure Neemo Flection Series bodies. Blythe collectors and customizers where a bit frantic but in the end found out that they were in the process of improving the Flection body which had the tendency to break off at the ankle joints. It does not appear that they changed the ankle joints but they did improve the range of motion through the shoulders and hips allowing for more flexibility and pose ability. I have always been a fan of the Pure Neemo Body and I am happy with the improvements so far. Over time we will see how they hold up and if the ankle joints are stronger.

Traditionally Memorial Day signifies the start of Summer. I see it as a day to pay homage to those brave fallen heroes who gave their lives for the freedoms we take for granted daily. Take the time today at your BBQ to see the true meaning of Memorial Day and pray for them and their families.

With the major changes occurring over at flickr, the Blythe Community has made a mass exodus and have regrouped over at ipernity. It is a refreshing photo sharing site that is similar to the original flickr. It seems as if it is easier to see every ones photos and read their blog like articles. I like it, so far so good. I have way too many photos over at flickr so I will keep it for the time being as I slowly save all the photos from there, I will be uploading to ipernity as well. Please join me I am here: http://www.ipernity.com/home/mydeliciousbliss .

Such a nice Saturday today even though my daughter and I are suffering from colds, we watched our favorite Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom which premiered on HBO today. I have been planning on creating Moonrise Kingdom Themed Characters Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop custom Blythe Dolls since the movie came out. They have been dressed for a while now but I have yet to get around to customizing them. I have some more accessories to gather up and make a tent stand for them. I hope to have them available by summer. They will have special miniature details and treats. This is a photo of them before they are customized and I think they are darling. Sam already looks like Sam, he just needs brows. He has on a vintage scout uniform and scarf with Khaki Scout Badges, he even has a little brass belt buckle and he is topped with a handmade coonskin cap. Suzy wears a dress by Sleep Forever and her super power binoculars and basket.
I will create some hand painted chips for both and I am thinking of giving Suzy a 2nd faceplate which I will paint her as a Raven and create the costume as well. They have some special handcrafted pull charms keeping in theme with clay pendents and a little brass binocular, arrow and compass charms along with name beads and pendents with hand drawn pictures and quotes all by Confetti Monster. More photos to come as I progress.

Lovely Roxy wanted some camera time. I just got this Kidsilk Jumper by Ochiwawa over the weekend and felt her glowing tanned skin and luxurious blond Alpaca hair would look gorgeous with it. She has my signature hand painted eyechips in Silverstone Blue and pretty caramel milky chips. Roxy also got a Pure Neemo Flection Body over the weekend which I tanned just a tad to blend in with her faceplates.

She now has 3 sets of hand painted eye chips. I gave her a thick black scalp with bangs and cute little bangs. She looks like she could be Amelia's sister so I took a shot of the two of them together. Soon they will be on their way to opposite sides of the world.

Blythe a Day May 4 ~ JAMAICA
Jamaican Ska Girls listening to some favorite records & dancing in their shanty on the beach.
Jamaican Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Ska is characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the upbeat. In the early 1960s, ska was the dominant music genre of Jamaica and was popular with British mods.

Custom Commissioned Beautiful Brown Blythe #20 is on my table in the Bliss Studio this week.
I tried something different on her, the client requested ducky lips. I gave her a slightly bitten lip with a tiny bit of exposed teeth. I think they came out so cute. She also wanted eyebrows which I usually do not do, but I think they suit her. She wanted her to have a look in childish innocents and I feel I conveyed that. More progress later in the week!

Rosa Parks wanted more opportunity. A person of color who had been denied decent treatment by society all of her life, Parks had finally had enough and refused to move when the bus driver ordered her to another seat. Jim Crow laws required blacks to give up seats to whites, as needed, determined by bus drivers. If whites were standing because their section of the bus was filled, the driver corrected the situation by ordering black riders to move from their seats to allow whites to sit instead. When Rosa Parks would not move from her seat, the bus driver haled a policeman to assist him in the matter. On December 5, 1955, the Montgomery Bus Boycott officially began. Signs and fliers announced to those who did not agree with policy that they should not ride. Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., and 91 others were prosecuted for starting the bus boycott.
